High Speed Vial Washing Machine

Description

High Speed Vial Washing Machine is an advanced automated equipment primarily used in the pharmaceutical industry to thoroughly clean glass or plastic vials (typically 2ml to 100ml in capacity) before they are filled with injectable drugs, ensuring sterility and compliance with cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. Vial Washing Machine minimize human contact with vials to reduce contamination risks and are designed for high-volume production lines, processing 100–250 vials per minute depending on the model and vial size. They are essential for achieving absolute cleanliness and hygiene in injectable packaging processes. It ensures high cleanliness standards and low bioburden levels critical for injectable drugs, vaccines, biologics, and other sterile products. These machines are essential for maintaining cGMP compliance in high-volume manufacturing.

  • Structure and Motion Types:
    • Rotary Models: Vials are loaded onto a rotating starwheel that indexes them through washing stations. This design is compact and efficient for circular motion, with outputs up to 240 vials/min.
    • Linear/Tunnel Models: Vials move intermittently along a straight SS wire mesh conveyor or tunnel, held in pockets for stability. Ideal for round vials, with automatic loading/unloading to save manpower. Outputs range from 120–250 vials/min, with 6–8 stations.

  • Washing Process:
    • Internal Cleaning: High-pressure nozzles or needles penetrate the vial’s neck to deliver 3–5 cycles of water and compressed air washes, ensuring deep decontamination without residue.
    • External Cleaning: Multi-jet sprayers cover the vial’s outer surface with one water and one air rinse to remove particulates and prevent dripping.
    • Cycles are flexible and customizable, often with vacuum-assisted drying to handle unstable vials at high speeds.

Working Principle of High Speed Vial Washing Machine

Vials pushed from in feed tray and then move on wire woven conveyor belt, which align the vial in correct position, to enter in to the carrier pocket with help of oscillating guide rails. Oscillating arm deliver the vial inside pocket in mouth down position over spraying nozzles. Multijet sprayers fixed at the top cause the total external and internal surface to be washed. To avoid any possible cross contamination between two different waters, each washing station is provided with an independent circuit. Carrier pocket is moving with indexing motion. When the baskets have completed their motion the needles are lifted. They penetrate the vials, spraying jets of water or compressed air then return down. The baskets movement then advances by one station. Each station of vials passes through the washing cycles selected. The duly washed vials then delivered to the out feed tray with neck opening upward and then automatically re ordered to sterilizing tunnel with back pressure.
