It is specifically engineered as a heavy-duty industrial machine for high-viscosity, sticky, dough-like, and pasty substances that conventional mixers cannot handle efficiently. The counter-rotating Z-shaped (sigma) blades deliver intensive kneading, shearing, folding, and stretching actions inside a sturdy U- or W-shaped trough.
The mixer is offered in Stainless Steel 316, Stainless Steel 304, or Mild Steel. Stainless steel versions can be finished to matt or mirror polish as required. Mild steel models receive one coat of red oxide and two coats of epoxy paint.
In the tangential design, blades meet tangentially and typically rotate at different speeds (often a 3:2 ratio), providing strong kneading and shearing ideal for higher-viscosity materials such as adhesives, rubber compounds, dyes, and pigments. Overlapping blades rotate at the same speed, enable faster material interchange, produce lower kneading intensity, and suit lighter-viscosity products such as creams, ointments, carbon pastes, and clay coatings.
Discharge can be achieved by hand-wheel (manual) tilting, hydraulic (automatic) tilting, bottom valves, or an extrusion screw system positioned beside the container. Automatic valve discharge is also available as an option.
Yes. A jacket can be provided for heating (steam, hot oil, hot water, or electric) or cooling (chilled water). Mineral wool insulation with cladding is available on the jacket for energy efficiency. Optional blade cooling arrangements and cored blades further support precise temperature control.
PTFE shaft sealing is provided for food-grade compatibility. The design maintains a minimum gap between the trough inner shell and the blades, which helps prevent product sticking and supports easier cleaning.
It is widely applied in the Pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical, Herbal, Ayurvedic, Biotech, Cosmetic, and Chemical industries for processing high-viscosity pastes, creams, ointments, adhesives, rubber compounds, pigments, and similar materials.
Available options include a liquid spray system, vacuum system, screw system (for feeding or discharge), blades cooling arrangement, automatic valve discharge system, variable speed drives, and overload protection.
Standard models range from ASM-50 (approximately 50 L working / 80 L gross capacity, 5 HP general / 7.5 HP heavy duty) up to ASM-3000 (approximately 3000 L working / 3800 L gross capacity, 100 HP general / 120 HP heavy duty). Power voltage can be adjusted to suit local requirements, and further customization is possible.
The combination of bulk movement, stretching, folding, dividing, and recombining of material, together with shearing and tearing against the blades and trough side walls, transfers product from one end of the trough to the other while reducing the size of solid particles for uniform consistency.
