The Sigma Mixer Kneader Extruder, also known as a Sigma Blade Mixer, Z-Blade Kneader, or Kneader Extruder, is a powerful specialized industrial machine engineered for intensive mixing, kneading, and extruding of high-viscosity, sticky, and elastoplastic materials. This robust equipment has become the preferred choice for manufacturers in the silicone sealant industry, delivering consistent, high-quality results at scale.
Silicone sealants — commonly referred to as silicon sealants or glass cement — are essential in construction, automotive, electronics, and household applications. Producing these thick, durable adhesives requires perfect blending of complex ingredients. The Sigma Mixer Kneader Extruder excels in this demanding process by efficiently combining silicone polymers, fillers (such as calcium carbonate or fumed silica), cross-linkers, catalysts, pigments, and various additives into a uniform, homogeneous thick paste.

It is a specialized industrial machine (also known as a Sigma Blade Mixer, Z-Blade Kneader, or Kneader Extruder) designed for intensive mixing, kneading, and extruding of high-viscosity, sticky, and elastoplastic materials. It is widely preferred for producing uniform silicone sealants by blending silicone polymers, fillers, cross-linkers, catalysts, pigments, and additives into a homogeneous thick paste.
It is optimized for silicone sealants (also called silicon sealants or glass cement) used in construction, automotive, electronics, and household applications. It efficiently handles high-viscosity formulations involving silicone polymers, calcium carbonate or fumed silica fillers, and other additives, while also being suitable for related high-viscosity products in chemical and related industries.
The machine is fabricated from Mild Steel (MS), Stainless Steel 304 (SS 304), or Stainless Steel 316 (SS 316). Surface finishes can be customized as matte or high-reflectivity mirror polish. Mild steel units receive an anti-corrosive red oxide primer followed by dual epoxy coats, and PTFE shaft seals ensure sanitary, safe operation.
Precision-driven, counter-rotating ‘Z’-profile (Sigma) agitators operate at differential speeds to create a tangential kneading effect. This produces continuous axial displacement, stretching, folding, splitting, and re-merging of materials, combined with intense shear between the blades and trough walls for complete homogenization and particle refinement without dead zones.
Tangential ‘Z’-shaped blades (typically running at a 3:2 speed ratio) are preferred for high-viscosity, sticky materials like silicone sealants. An overlapping blade layout (same speed) is available for lower-viscosity free-flowing substances. Ultra-tight clearance between blades and the trough wall prevents product accumulation.
Models range from ASM-50 (approx. 50 L working / 80 L gross capacity, 5–7.5 HP) to ASM-3000 (approx. 3000 L working / 3800 L gross, 100–120 HP). Intermediate sizes include 75 L, 100 L, 150 L, 200 L, 400 L, 500 L, 750 L, 1000 L, 1500 L, and 2000 L, with general and heavy-duty motor options. Voltage can be customized to local requirements.
Finished product can be unloaded via vessel tipping (manual hand-wheel or automated hydraulic), bottom-mounted discharge valves, or a lateral extrusion screw positioned beside the mixing basin. The extrusion screw is particularly efficient for sticky silicone sealants.
Yes. The machine features adaptable temperature-control jackets for external heating or cooling cycles. The trough is insulated with high-density mineral wool and clad externally. Optional blade cooling arrangements are also available for temperature-sensitive processes.
Optional systems include a liquid spray system, vacuum processing unit (for degassing/de-aeration), blades cooling arrangement, screw/extrusion system, and automatic valve discharge system. These can be configured modularly based on specific production needs.
Key advantages include dual counter-rotating Sigma blades for intense shearing and homogenization, a robust U-shaped trough, an integrated extrusion mechanism for efficient discharge of sticky pastes, optional vacuum and jacketed heating/cooling, and capacities scalable from laboratory to large production volumes (up to 2500+ liters). This design delivers consistent, high-quality results at industrial scale.
