It is a heavy-duty industrial mixer (also called a Sigma Kneader, Z-Blade Mixer, or Double Arm Kneader) designed for mixing, kneading, and blending high-viscosity, sticky, and semi-solid materials such as rubber compounds, silicone rubber, adhesives, and elastomers. It delivers uniform consistency essential for tyre manufacturing and high-performance silicone rubber components.
They are built from Mild Steel, SS 304, or SS 316. Finishes range from matte to mirror polish. Mild steel units receive an anti-corrosive red oxide primer plus dual-layer epoxy paint. PTFE shaft seals ensure hygienic, food-grade compatibility where required.
Counter-rotating tangential ‘Z’-profile blades create differential-velocity axial transfer, continuously folding, stretching, and shearing the material. Intensive shear between the blades and trough walls reduces particles and produces streak-free homogenization. Optional jackets automatically switch from heating to cooling once the process cycle ends.
Standard models range from ASM-50 (50 L working / 80 L gross, 5–7.5 HP) to ASM-3000 (3000 L working / 3800 L gross, 100–120 HP). Both general-duty and heavy-duty motor ratings are available, with voltage adjustable to local power supplies. Custom capacities are also possible.
Options include manual hand-wheel tilting, hydraulic tilting (often up to 180°), bottom outlet valves, or a lateral extrusion screw. Hydraulic systems can reverse blade rotation for complete emptying of sticky silicone or rubber batches.
Yes. Adaptable thermal jackets support external heating (steam, hot water, or electric) or cooling (cool water circulation). The trough is insulated with high-density mineral wool and protected by metal cladding to maintain precise process temperatures for silicone rubber and rubber compounds.
Tangential blades (typically running at a 3:2 speed ratio) deliver high shear ideal for ultra-high-viscosity materials such as rubber compounds and adhesives. Overlapping blades (same speed) provide milder kneading and faster cross-transfer, better suited to lower-viscosity pastes, creams, or pigments.
They are widely applied in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, herbal, Ayurvedic, biotech, cosmetic, and chemical industries for processing high-viscosity pastes, compounds, dyes, and specialty formulations that require uniform dispersion.
Customers can choose blade materials (AISI 1030, CF8, CF8M), trough thickness (3–30 mm), fixed or variable speed (with VFD), manual or automatic feeding, various discharge systems, heating/cooling jackets, silicon/PTFE or asbestos seals, surface finishes, and optional vacuum or spray systems.
The dual Z-blade system delivers excellent shear and folding for faster, consistent batches. They handle viscosities from pastes to ultra-high rubber compounds, offer precise temperature control, simplify discharge and cleaning, and feature heavy-duty gearboxes, motors, and safety interlocks for reliable continuous industrial operation.
