Powder Granulation Blender also known as a mixer granulator or granulation mixer is a specialized piece of equipment used in industries like pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food processing, and nutraceuticals. It combines blending with granulation. This dual functionality improves powder flowability, density, compressibility, and handling, making it easier to process materials for tableting, encapsulation, or packaging. Granulation often involves adding a liquid binder (wet granulation) or mechanical compaction during mixing to create “liquid bridges” or agglomerates between particles. These machines are essential for achieving high homogeneity while minimizing segregation, contamination, and degradation of sensitive materials. Working Principle of Powder Granulation Blender

Rapid Mixer Granulator working principles are based on two decisive factors essential for the intimate mixing system.

  • Spinning close to bottom of mixing bowl.
  • The impeller sets the entire mixture in whirling rising.

 

Tumbling motion ensuring a quick & even distribution of all dry components. This leads to an even distribution of all dry components & an even wetting of every granule. The large lumps occurred during wet mixing are broken up, by the strategically acted chopping tool rotating at 1440/2880 RPM.

 

The mixture can be discharged with the impeller running through outlet located on the side of the mixing bowl flush to the bottom. Easy accessibility for cleaning is guaranteed by the low profile. The mixing tool is easily removed from the drive shaft providing an unobstructed mixing area which may be cleaned very easily.

The machine operates on the principle of high-speed impeller agitation at the bottom of the mixing bowl, creating a whirling and tumbling motion for uniform distribution of dry powders. A high-speed chopper (1440/2880 RPM) breaks down large lumps during binder addition. This results in rapid, even wetting of particles and formation of consistent granules. The side-discharge outlet allows easy unloading with the impeller running.
