Agitators for Fertilizers

Agitators for Fertilizers

Agitators for fertilizers are specialized devices used in agriculture to mix, homogenize, and keep fertilizer solutions or materials in suspension. They prevent sedimentation, clumping, or separation, ensuring uniform nutrient distribution for effective application in crops, whether in liquid fertigation systems, storage tanks, sprayers, or spreaders.

Main Types and Purposes

  1. Tank Agitators (for Liquid Fertilizers) These are used in stock tanks, mixing vessels, or sprayer tanks to stir liquid or dissolved fertilizers. They prevent solids from settling at the bottom and maintain a homogeneous solution. Common designs include mechanical (electric motor-driven paddles or propellers), hydraulic jet agitators (using venturi action for recirculation), or air-powered systems. Turbine or propeller types provide radial/axial flow for efficient mixing in larger tanks (300+ liters).

  2. Hopper Agitators (for Dry/Granular Fertilizers in Spreaders) Installed in the hoppers of broadcast spreaders, these gently rotate or use stars/paddles to break up clumps, prevent bridging, and ensure consistent flow of powdery, clumpy, or granular fertilizers during spreading.

These agitators are essential in modern farming for efficient fertigation, spraying, or broadcasting, reducing waste and improving crop nutrient uptake. They vary in size from small sprayer kits to industrial top-entry mixers for large-scale production.
