A Silicon Sealant Kneader (also called a Sigma Mixer, Z-Blade Kneader, or Vacuum Kneader) is a heavy-duty industrial mixing machine designed for kneading, mixing, and blending high-viscosity, elastic-plastic materials. It is primarily used to manufacture silicone sealants (both acetoxy and neutral-cure types), adhesives, and other viscous chemical compounds, delivering uniform consistency and excellent dispersion.
The machine is built from heavy-duty Mild Steel (MS), Stainless Steel 304 (SS 304), or Stainless Steel 316 (SS 316). Surface finishes can be customized as matte or ultra-bright mirror polish. Mild steel units receive an anti-corrosive red oxide primer followed by a two-layer epoxy coating. PTFE shaft seals ensure sanitary and food-grade compatibility.
It uses two precision-crafted, counter-rotating “Z”-shaped (Sigma) blades that operate at differential speeds. This creates intense shearing, stretching, folding, and kneading action that thoroughly homogenizes high-viscosity materials while eliminating dead zones and product retention through ultra-close clearances between the blades and trough walls.
Tangential rotors meet inside the trough and typically run at a 3:2 speed ratio; they are optimized for heavy, high-viscosity materials such as silicone sealants and adhesives. Overlapping rotors intersect above the central saddle and run at the same speed; they suit lower-viscosity or free-flowing materials and provide milder shearing.
Models range from ASM-50 (50 L working / 80 L gross capacity, 5–7.5 HP) to ASM-3000 (3000 L working / 3800 L gross capacity, 100–120 HP). Intermediate sizes include 75 L, 100 L, 150 L, 200 L, 400 L, 500 L, 750 L, 1000 L, 1500 L, and 2000 L, available in general-duty and heavy-duty motor variants. Voltage can be customized to local requirements.
Discharge options include manual hand-wheel tilting, automated hydraulic tilting, bottom-mounted outlet valves, or a lateral extrusion screw. These allow efficient unloading of finished batches according to product viscosity and production needs.
Yes. Custom temperature-regulation jackets support external heating or cooling. The trough is insulated with high-density mineral wool and protected by external metal cladding. Optional blade-cooling arrangements are also available for temperature-sensitive formulations.
Optional systems include a liquid spray system, vacuum integration (for de-aeration), blade cooling arrangement, screw/extrusion system, and automatic valve discharge. Modular configurations with vacuum and controlled fluid spray can be supplied on request.
While specialized for silicone sealant and adhesive production, it is also widely used in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, herbal, Ayurvedic, biotech, cosmetic, and chemical industries for any high-viscosity mixing and kneading applications that require consistent homogeneity.
The machine is engineered with ultra-close clearance tolerances between the inner trough shell and the agitators. Combined with precision tangential Z-blades and PTFE shaft seals, this design virtually eliminates product buildup, ensures complete discharge, and maintains hygienic, efficient operation.
