A Sigma Kneader features two counter-rotating Z-shaped or sigma-shaped blades (also called arms) that rotate at different speeds within a specially designed trough or chamber. This unique blade configuration creates a highly effective folding, shearing, and stretching action that ensures thorough mixing even of the toughest materials.
In vacuum kneader models, the mixing chamber operates under vacuum conditions. This removes air bubbles, prevents oxidation, and results in a denser, more uniform final product with improved texture and stability. Vacuum technology is particularly beneficial when processing soap bases, as it enhances the incorporation of sensitive ingredients without compromising quality.

They are especially valuable in soap production for making high-quality toilet soaps, laundry soaps, detergent bars, bath soaps, and specialized cosmetic formulations, delivering uniform texture and consistency.
The mixer uses two counter-rotating Z-shaped or sigma-shaped blades that turn at different speeds inside a trough. This creates powerful folding, shearing, stretching, and kneading actions that thoroughly mix even the toughest materials and ensure complete homogenization without streaks.
Operating under vacuum removes air bubbles, prevents oxidation, and produces a denser, more uniform product with improved texture and stability. It is particularly helpful when processing soap bases because it allows better incorporation of sensitive ingredients without quality loss.
They are fabricated from heavy-duty Mild Steel (MS), Stainless Steel 304, or Stainless Steel 316. Surfaces can be finished in matte or high-gloss polish as required. Mild-steel models receive a red-oxide primer plus two coats of epoxy paint for protection.
Models range from ASM-50 (approx. 50 L working / 80 L gross) to ASM-3000 (approx. 3000 L working / 3800 L gross). Motor power varies by size and duty rating (general or heavy-duty), and voltage can be customized to local requirements.
Discharge can be performed by vessel tipping, bottom-mounted outlet valves, or a lateral extrusion screw. Mechanisms support either manual hand-wheel control or automated hydraulic actuation, with optional automatic valve or screw systems for controlled unloading.
Yes. Adaptable jackets allow external heating or cooling. The trough is insulated with high-density mineral wool and clad in protective metal. Optional blade-cooling arrangements further manage heat buildup during processing of viscous materials.
Tangential blades meet at the sides and typically run at different speeds (often a 3:2 ratio); they are ideal for high-viscosity materials and provide strong kneading and shearing. Overlapping blades intersect above the center, rotate at the same speed, and suit lower-viscosity or free-flowing materials with gentler action and faster cross-transfer.
Key features include ultra-close clearance between the trough wall and blades to eliminate product retention, resilient PTFE shaft seals for sanitary operation, precision-engineered tangential Z-profile blades for streak-free homogenization, and optional modular vacuum or liquid-spray systems.
Optional accessories include liquid spray systems, vacuum integration, blade cooling, screw extruders, and automatic valve discharge. While optimized for soap, the mixers are also used in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, herbal, Ayurvedic, biotech, cosmetic, and chemical industries.
