It uses two counter-rotating sigma-shaped (Z-shaped) blades to deliver intense shearing, folding, and kneading action, ensuring uniform mixing of tough substances like pharmaceutical pastes, food doughs, rubber compounds, adhesives, and chemicals.
The machine operates using tangential or overlapping ‘Z’ type sigma blades that rotate at different speeds (typically 3:2 ratio in tangential design) toward each other. This creates bulk movement, stretching, folding, dividing, and recombining of the material, along with shearing against the trough walls for size reduction. Discharge occurs via tilting the container, bottom valves, or an extrusion screw.
