It is a specialized industrial sigma (Z-blade/double-arm) kneader engineered for uniformly kneading and blending high-viscosity, semi-solid materials such as marzipan (almond-sugar paste), mastics, chewing gum bases, putties, heavy doughs, adhesives, and other dense pastes used in confectionery, food, chemical, and adhesive industries.
Two counter-rotating sigma- or Z-shaped blades operating at different speeds inside a W- or U-shaped trough create intense shearing, folding, compressing, stretching, and kneading. Material is continuously transferred from one end of the trough to the other, breaking down lumps and ensuring homogeneous dispersion while minimizing air incorporation.
The machine is built from high-grade Stainless Steel 304, Stainless Steel 316, or Mild Steel. Surfaces can be finished matte or mirror-polish. Mild-steel versions receive a red-oxide primer coat followed by a double-coat epoxy finish for corrosion protection. PTFE shaft seals support food-grade sanitary requirements.
Models range from ASM-50 (approx. 50 L working / 80 L gross capacity) to ASM-3000 (approx. 3000 L working / 3800 L gross). Motors are available in general or heavy-duty ratings (e.g., 5–7.5 HP for the smallest model up to 100–120 HP for the largest), with voltage adaptable to local power supplies.
Yes. Optional thermal jackets allow precise heating or cooling. Jackets are insulated with high-density mineral wool and protected by outer cladding. Automated thermal cycling can deactivate heating and initiate cooling after set process times. Blade-cooling arrangements are also available.
Finished product can be unloaded by trough tilting (manual hand-wheel or hydraulic), bottom discharge valves, or a side-mounted extrusion screw. Automatic valve systems can be added for greater convenience.
Tangential blades meet at the trough edges, typically run at a 3:2 speed ratio, and deliver high shear ideal for very viscous materials such as rubber compounds, adhesives, and mastics. Overlapping blades rotate at equal speed, cross above the central saddle, and provide gentler kneading with faster material interchange—better suited to lower-viscosity products like pastes, creams, and slurries.
Ultra-close clearances between blades and trough wall prevent product buildup, precision-engineered tangential Z-blades ensure homogeneous blending, PTFE seals maintain hygiene, and robust construction handles abrasive or highly elastic compounds without excessive wear.
