Filter Press For Syrup Plant

Description

In the world of syrup manufacturing, achieving a pristine, impurity-free product is critical for both taste and market appeal. A filter press for syrup production stands as one of the most vital pieces of syrup clarification equipment. It efficiently removes suspended solids, impurities, and unwanted particles, delivering a clear, polished syrup ideal for bottling and commercial sale. Whether you’re producing artisanal maple syrup or operating large-scale industrial sugar processing plants, investing in a high-performance filter press can dramatically elevate product quality.

Syrup straight from the evaporator often contains natural sediments, minerals, proteins, and debris that can affect clarity, shelf life, and consumer perception. A syrup filter press addresses these issues through pressure-driven filtration, ensuring consistent results batch after batch. This equipment is particularly valued for its ability to handle hot syrup, which maintains viscosity and flow while maximizing filtration efficiency.

Working Principle of Filter Press For Syrup Plant

The liquid is fed into the filter of the machine and it is done under positive pressure. Now, the liquid travels downwards and passes through the opening on the sides of filter plates. The filter media holds back foreign particles and enables only clear filtrate to go past the central channel. This central channel is made by interlocking pressure cups to the outlet. The filtration process continues until the cake holding capacity gets saturated or the filtrate rate gets way slower than it must be. This happens due to decreasing cake resistance. Our meticulously designed filter press is cost-efficient. And you can bet on its efficiency – it helps save every precious drop.

Key Features of Filter Press For Syrup Plant

Filter presses vary by size, power source, and scale:

  • Small-scale:
    • 7-10 inch plates (e.g., 3-8 frames).
    • Options: Hand pump, electric diaphragm pump, air diaphragm pump, or vacuum-assisted.
    • Popular brands: CDL, Bascom Maple Farms, H2O Innovation, Smoky Lake, LS Bilodeau.
    • Example: CDL 7″ with electric pump or vacuum round presses for easy, mess-free operation.

  • Medium to large-scale:
    • 15-20 inch plates (7-11+ frames).
    • Pneumatic or electric pumps for higher volume.
    • Plate-and-frame or chamber types for efficient solid-liquid separation.

  • Industrial sugar syrup:
    • Larger chamber or membrane filter presses for high-pressure filtration and minimal waste.

FAQ for Filter Press For Syrup Plant

Syrup is fed into the filter under positive pressure. It travels downward through openings on the sides of the filter plates. The filter media retains foreign particles while clear filtrate passes through the central channel formed by interlocking pressure cups to the outlet. Filtration continues until the cake-holding capacity is saturated or the filtrate rate slows significantly due to cake resistance.

Models are offered with plate diameters of 4, 8, 14, 18, 24, and 33 inches. Specific configurations vary in number of plates, filtering area, cake-holding space, output (LPH), motor power, and pump size to suit different production scales.

All product-contact parts are constructed from stainless steel SS 304, SS 316, or SS 316L. These materials provide corrosion resistance, durability, a high degree of finish, and suitability for hygienic processing of food-grade syrups.

It is fitted with a pressure gauge, safety valve, and air vent. Construction follows the latest engineering standards. Maintenance can be performed with minimal lifting of components, and the design ensures minimum hold-up of unfiltered slurry to boost productivity.

Yes. It is particularly valued for processing hot syrup, which helps maintain proper viscosity and flow characteristics while maximizing filtration efficiency and delivering consistent results batch after batch.

The unit can be supplied with centrifugal, gear, or lobe pumps, selected according to the required capacity, syrup characteristics, and process needs.

Depending on the model (plate diameter and number of plates), outputs range from approximately 250 LPH (smaller 8-inch configurations) up to 21,000 LPH (larger 24-inch models). Exact capacity, filtering area, and cake-holding volume are detailed in the technical specification table for each configuration.

While optimized for syrup plants (maple and sugar processing), the equipment is also suitable for clarification needs in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, herbal, Ayurvedic, biotech, cosmetic, and chemical industries where solid-liquid separation and clear filtrates are required.

The filter press features minimum hold-up of unfiltered slurry so nearly every drop is recovered. Crystal-clear filtration, efficient cake formation, and robust construction help maintain consistent high throughput while lowering product loss and supporting cost-efficient operation.
