Cold Drinks Filter Press A Cold Drinks Filter Press is an industrial dewatering and solid-liquid separation machine commonly used in various industries. However, in soft drink (cold drinks) production, traditional filter presses are not typically the primary equipment for core filtration steps. Instead, soft drink manufacturing relies on cartridge filters, membrane filtration (e.g., microfiltration, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis), activated carbon filters, and sterile gas filters for clarity, microbial control, taste improvement, and ingredient purification (water, syrup, CO₂).

That said, systems branded as “Coldrink” (from Everpure/Pentair) are popular commercial water filtration systems specifically designed for cold beverage dispensers (e.g., fountain soda machines in restaurants). These are high-flow cartridge-based filters that reduce sediments, chlorine, odors, and contaminants to improve taste and protect equipment in carbonated/non-carbonated cold drinks.

Process Operation of  Filter Machine

The liquid is fed into the filter of the machine and it is done under positive pressure. Now, the liquid travels downwards and passes through the opening on the sides of filter plates. The filter media holds back foreign particles and enables only clear filtrate to go past the central channel. This central channel is made by interlocking pressure cups to the outlet. The filtration process continues until the cake holding capacity gets saturated or the filtrate rate gets way slower than it must be. This happens due to decreasing cake resistance.
