Eye Drop Filler Machine

Description

An Eye Drop Filling Machine—frequently referred to as an eye drop filler, liquid dropper packing machine, or eye drop filling and capping machine—is specialized, high-precision pharmaceutical packaging equipment. It is engineered to automatically meter and dispense small liquid volumes (typically ranging from 2ml to 30ml) into bottles or vials. Indispensable within modern sterile manufacturing plants, these advanced systems coordinate multiple inline packaging procedures—including precise volumetric dispensing, inner plug or dropper insertion, and tamper-evident screw capping.

Summary: Why Automation Matters

  • Investing in an automated eye drop filling and capping system safeguards product integrity, maximizes throughput speeds (ranging anywhere from 20 to over 100 bottles per minute depending on configuration), and drastically reduces human intervention. By combining micro-dosing precision with robust regulatory compliance, these systems form the backbone of safe, efficient ophthalmic manufacturing.

FAQ for Eye Drop Filler Machine

It is a compact monoblock design that integrates three key operations: precise volumetric liquid filling, pneumatic placement of the inner dropper or plug, and screw capping. This eliminates the need for separate machines and reduces handling of the product.

Filling accuracy is typically ±0.5% to ±1% (technical specification lists ±0.5%). Production speed ranges from approximately 20 to over 100 bottles per minute depending on configuration, with the standard model rated up to 120 bottles per hour maximum.

All liquid-contact parts are made of SS 316 / 316L stainless steel, while the machine body is SS 304. The design is fully GMP-compliant, hygienic, and suitable for aseptic operation under Class 100 laminar airflow. Critical parts can be easily removed for autoclaving or sterilization.

It is equipped with “No vial / No bottle – No fill” and “No cap – Machine stop” safety systems to prevent incomplete or faulty packaging and protect product integrity.

A pneumatic system accurately places the inner dropper or plug. Outer caps are oriented automatically using a vibratory bowl feeder and mechanical chute before being applied by the screw-capping station.

The machine handles both glass and plastic bottles. Standard fill volumes are in the small ophthalmic range (typically 2–30 ml), with optional capability from 5 ml to 100 ml. Changeover between different bottle and fill sizes is designed to be quick with minimum downtime.

It uses co-eccentric or anti-drip nozzles that provide spill-free, precise dosing. Optional nitrogen pre-gassing and post-gassing, as well as HEPA filtration, are available to further protect product quality and sterility.

Operation is managed via a PLC-based control system with a digital HMI / easy-reach control panel. The standard electrical specification is 3-phase, 415 V, 50 Hz (voltage can be adjusted to customer requirements).

It is primarily used in the pharmaceutical industry for ophthalmic products and is also suitable for nutraceutical, herbal, Ayurvedic, biotech, cosmetic, and chemical applications that require precise, sterile filling of small-volume liquid products into dropper bottles.
