Lab Scale Vibro Sifter (also known as a laboratory vibro sifterR&D vibro sifter, mini vibro sifter, or small vibrating sieve machine) is a compact vibratory screening device designed for small-batch processing in research and development laboratories. It is primarily used in pharmaceutical, chemical, food, and cosmetic industries for:

 

  • Sieving and grading powders or granules based on particle size.
  • Separating solids from solids or solids from liquids.
  • Removing oversize particles, lumps, or contaminants (de-lumping and de-dusting).

 

Unlike larger industrial vibro sifters, lab models are portable, low-noise, and suitable for handling small quantities (typically 10–150 kg/hour, depending on the model).

Working Principle of Lab Scale Vibro Sifter

This vibrating energy screen is unit consisting of circular pre-tensioned screen mounted on the frame along with vibrating motor. The vibrating motor imparts three plane vibrations to the screen due to revolving eccentric weights. Total assembly is mounted on suitable springs so that it becomes a independent body which vibrates without parting any vibrations to the foundations.

The machine operates on the principle of gyratory vibration:

  • A specially designed vibratory motor with adjustable eccentric weights generates three-dimensional vibrations (horizontal, vertical, and tangential).
  • Material is fed through a top inlet onto a circular screen (mesh).
  • Smaller particles pass through the mesh and exit via a bottom outlet.
  • Larger particles move to a side outlet.
  • Springs isolate vibrations, reducing noise and floor transmission.

 

Many models are cGMP-compliant (current Good Manufacturing Practice), made from stainless steel (SS 304 or 316), and feature easy screen changes with clamps and gaskets for dust-free operation.
