Automatic Bottle Unscrambler

Automatic Bottle Unscrambler

An Automatic Bottle Unscrambler is a specialized industrial machine used in packaging and bottling lines to automatically sort, orient, and feed empty bottles (typically plastic, though some handle other materials) from a bulk, disordered state into a single-file, upright position on a conveyor for downstream processes like filling, capping, labeling, or sealing.

Key Functions

  • Takes randomly piled bottles from a large hopper or elevator.

  • Sorts and orients them upright (neck leading or as required).

  • Discharges them in an orderly row at high speeds, eliminating manual labor and improving efficiency in industries like beverages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, and chemicals.

How It Works

Bottles are loaded in bulk into a hopper. An elevator or feeder moves them to a rotating sorting bowl or drum with pockets/slots. Bottles that fit correctly are picked up and oriented (often using gravity, air jets, or mechanical guides). Misaligned or defective bottles are rejected and recycled. Properly oriented bottles are discharged onto a conveyor.

Many models include optional features like ionized air rinsing, vacuum cleaning, or secondary orienters for asymmetric bottles.

Benefits

  • High speeds (up to 300–650+ bottles per minute depending on model and bottle size).

  • Quick changeovers for different bottle shapes/sizes (tool-less in advanced models).

  • Gentle handling to prevent damage.

  • Integration with full production lines.
