How It Works
Most modern PET bottle unscramblers are rotary systems (though linear models exist):

Bulk Loading — Empty bottles are dumped into a large hopper or bin.

Elevation and Feeding — An elevator or conveyor lifts bottles into the main sorting chamber (often a rotating disc or centrifugal bowl).

Sorting and Selection — Bottles are distributed around the periphery. Mechanical selectors, hooks, lifters, or vacuum-assisted cradles pick up bottles. Incorrectly oriented ones (e.g., base-up) are rejected and recycled back to the hopper.

Orientation and Discharge — Properly oriented bottles drop through funnels or chutes onto a conveyor in an upright position, ready for the next machine.
Speeds typically range from 100–600+ bottles per minute (or higher for advanced models), depending on bottle size/shape and machine design. They handle various shapes (round, oval, rectangular) and sizes (e.g., 50ml to 3L), with quick tool-less changeovers for different formats.
