Low-speed shaft: Typically equipped with an anchor agitator (or helical/scraper blade) that sweeps close to the vessel walls. This provides bulk movement, scrapes the sides to prevent buildup, improves heat transfer, and feeds material toward the center.

High-speed shaft: Usually fitted with a saw-tooth disperser blade (or high-shear disc) that creates intense turbulence and a vortex for rapid wetting, deagglomeration, and fine dispersion of powders or solids into the liquid.
