Automatic Ampoule Labeling Machine

Description

The Automatic Ampoule Labeling Machine is a high-performance pharmaceutical packaging machine specifically engineered for the fast and accurate application of self-adhesive labels on small, delicate containers. Designed to handle glass ampoules, vials, eye drop bottles, syringes, and other cylindrical products, this advanced ampoule labeler ensures consistent, error-free labeling at high production speeds.

Widely used across the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries, these GMP-compliant labeling machines play a critical role in maintaining regulatory standards. They help ensure vital information — including dosage, batch numbers, expiration dates, and safety warnings — is applied correctly, minimizing compliance risks and product recalls.

Compared to manual labeling, an automatic ampoule labeling machine significantly reduces human error, lowers the risk of breakage to fragile glass ampoules, increases throughput, and improves overall operational efficiency. Whether you’re looking for a reliable vial labeling machine or a high-speed solution for liquid-filled containers, investing in quality automatic labeling equipment helps streamline production while meeting stringent industry standards.

Working Principle of Automatic Ampoule Labeling Machine

Ampoules are loaded onto infeed hopper of the machine from where it is delivered to the feedworm. Feed worm rotates ampoule and during its operation transfer the ampoules to the Starwheel. The Starhweel is having rollers of same diameter as of ampoule body diameter. Starwheel transfer ampoules to the labeling station where ampoule picks label one by one and further moves towards pressing unit. Pressing Unit equipped with rubber belt for proper placing the labels. During movement of ampoules from pressing belt ampoules get labeled.

Duly labeled ampoules get collected on Outfeed Collection Tray for further operation. In case of printing unit opted labels will be printed with printing device before applying onto ampoules. There are encoders installed which sense gap between two labels and accordingly provide signals to print data onto labels.

Applications of Sticker Labeling Machine

Advantages of Automatic Ampoule Labeling Machine

Efficiency: High output reduces labor costs and production time.

Accuracy: Vision systems ensure zero-defect labeling, critical for regulatory compliance.

Versatility: Models like horizontal (VK-HRL) for small-diameter items or rotary (SBSL-300) for vertical stability.

Cost-Effective: Minimal maintenance, low compressed air usage, and options for customization.

Ergonomics: Compact design meets pharmaceutical ergonomic guidelines, with easy loading/unloading in vertical trays to avoid breakage.

Key Features of Automatic Ampoule Labeling Machine

Automatic ampoule labelers incorporate advanced technology for reliability and user-friendliness:

  • Microprocessor-Controlled Label Dispensing: Uses sensors for precise label detection, alignment, and application, eliminating the need for manual adjustments. Inbuilt automated label length detection prevents downtime during label size changes.

  • Feeding and Handling Systems: Ampoules are loaded via an infeed hopper, tray, or wire mesh conveyor, then transferred using a feed worm and starwheel (with rollers matching ampoule diameter) for stable, vertical or horizontal positioning. This prevents tipping or damage to unstable, round-bottom containers.

  • Variable Speed Control: Equipped with AC frequency drives for adjustable speeds, maintaining constant torque.

  • Safety and Quality Checks: Includes missing label sensors, label break/roll end alarms, and optional vision systems for barcode scanning, print verification, and optical character recognition (OCR/OCV) to detect printing errors or absent codes.

  • Printing Integration: Compatible with inline printers for batch numbers, manufacturing/expiry dates, and pharma codes.

  • HMI and PLC Interface: Touchscreen human-machine interface (HMI) and programmable logic controller (PLC) for easy operation, error monitoring, and diagnostics.

  • Construction: Made from high-quality 304/316 stainless steel with powder-coated or nickel-plated MS parts; all moving components covered by SS safety guards for hygiene and durability.

  • Rejection System: Optional pneumatic rejection for faulty labeled products, with separate collection bins for unlabeled or defective items.

FAQ for Automatic Ampoule Labeling Machine

Three models are available to suit different production scales:

  • AASL-120: Up to 120 ampoules per minute (0.5 H.P.)
  • AASL-300: Up to 300 ampoules per minute (1 H.P.)
  • AASL-600: Up to 600 ampoules per minute (2 H.P.) This range supports both medium-volume and high-speed sterile injectable lines.

Ampoules are loaded into an infeed hopper or conveyor, transferred via a feed worm and starwheel (with matching-diameter rollers), picked up at the labeling station, and then pressed firmly with a rubber belt unit for wrinkle-free application. Labeled products are collected on an outfeed tray. Encoders ensure synchronized printing when the optional printing device is used.

Key features include the “No Ampoule – No Label” system, missing label sensors, label break/roll end alarms, imported sensors, and optional camera-based vision systems for print/barcode verification and OCR/OCV checks. Optional pneumatic rejection systems divert faulty products.

Yes. An optional inline printing device can be integrated to print batch numbers, manufacturing/expiry dates, and other variable data. Encoders detect label gaps and synchronize printing before application, ensuring regulatory compliance.

It offers flexible infeed via hopper for individual operation or wire mesh conveyor for fully automatic feeding. The compact GMP design, PLC with touchscreen HMI, variable AC frequency drive, and safety guards make it easy to integrate into complete packaging lines with fillers, cappers, or turntables.

It is widely used in the Pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical, Herbal, Ayurvedic, Biotech, Cosmetic, and Chemical industries. Its gentle handling, high accuracy, and GMP compliance make it ideal for labeling sterile injectables and other sensitive products.

  • Ampoule Diameter: 10–18 mm
  • Ampoule Height: 50–105 mm
  • Label Length: 20–50 mm
  • Label Width: 15–60 mm
  • Label Roll Core: 75–76 mm Self-adhesive sticker labels are used across all models.

Automation significantly reduces human error, lowers breakage risk for fragile glass ampoules, increases throughput, improves efficiency, and ensures consistent, wrinkle-free, bubble-free labeling. It also cuts labor costs while supporting regulatory compliance and traceability.

The machine features high-quality stainless steel (304/316) construction, an inbuilt touchscreen HMI and PLC, variable speed control with AC frequency drive, speed indicator/counter, secondary pressing unit, and safety guards. Power requirements are 230V single phase (customizable), with servo motors for precision.
