An Ampoule Labeling Machine is a specialized piece of automated equipment primarily used in the pharmaceutical, medical, and cosmetics industries to apply adhesive stickers or labels precisely onto small, cylindrical glass or plastic containers such as ampoules, vials, syringes, test tubes, and similar unstable products. These machines ensure accurate labeling for product identification, dosage information, batch numbers, manufacturing dates, and regulatory compliance, while minimizing the risk of breakage or misalignment due to the fragile nature of ampoules.
Ampoules are sealed glass vials typically used for sterile liquids like injectable drugs, and their small size and horizontal orientation make standard vertical labeling challenging. Thus, these machines often employ horizontal or rotary designs to handle them gently and efficiently.
Types of Ampoule Sticker Labeling Machine
AASL-120: Standard model machine labels up to 120 ampoules per minute.
AASL – 300: High Speed Ampoule Labeler labels up to 300 ampoules per minute.
AASL – 600: Super High Speed Ampoule Labeler labels up to 600 ampoules per minute.

Key Features
Ampoule labeling machines are built to meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, with compact, ergonomic designs made from stainless steel (304/316 grade) for hygiene and durability. Common features include:
-
Precision Sensors and Controls: Imported sensors detect label gaps, ensure no-label rejection, and verify placement. Microprocessor-based systems prevent label dispensing without a container.
-
Variable Speed Drives: AC frequency drives allow adjustable speeds, often up to 300-600 ampoules per minute, with inbuilt speed indicators and counters for efficiency.
-
Safety and Protection: Over-current/temperature protection, safety guards on moving parts, and powder-coated/electroplated exteriors. They also include options for vision systems to check print quality, barcodes, and label presence, rejecting faulty items to a recovery box.
-
Printing Integration: Optional batch printers for variable data like expiration dates directly on labels.
-
User Interface: PLC-based with touch-screen HMI (Human-Machine Interface) for intuitive operation, easy adjustments, and line clearance between batches.
-
Power and Dimensions: Typically 1-2.4 kW, 220-380V, with footprints around 1800x650x1200 mm and weights of 300-400 kg.
Applications and Benefits
-
Industries: Pharmaceuticals (sterile injectables), cosmetics (lip balms, tubes), medical devices (syringes, cartridges), and food (small bottles).
-
Benefits: High speed (up to 600/min), cost savings on labor, minimal maintenance, and enhanced product safety through accurate labeling. Modular designs allow customization for different sizes, and CE/GMP certification ensures global usability.

Process Operation of Ampoule Labeler
Ampoules are loaded onto infeed hopper of the machine from where it is delivered to the feedworm. Feed worm rotates ampoule and during its operation transfer the ampoules to the Starwheel. The Starhweel is having rollers of same diameter as of ampoule body diameter. Starwheel transfer ampoules to the labeling station where ampoule picks label one by one and further moves towards pressing unit. Pressing Unit equipped with rubber belt for proper placing the labels. During movement of ampoules from pressing belt ampoules get labeled.
Duly labeled ampoules get collected on Outfeed Collection Tray for further operation. In case of printing unit opted labels will be printed with printing device before applying onto ampoules. There are encoders installed which sense gap between two labels and accordingly provide signals to print data onto labels.
