Automatic Ampoule Vial Labeling Machine

Description

In today’s fast-paced pharmaceutical manufacturing landscape, the Automatic Ampoule Vial Labeling Machine has become an essential piece of high-precision packaging equipment. Designed specifically for the pharma industry, this advanced labeling system delivers accurate, efficient, and consistent application of self-adhesive sticker labels on small, cylindrical glass containers such as ampoules and vials.

Unlike conventional labeling machines that rely on stable, upright containers, automatic ampoule vial labeling machines are engineered to handle unstable or non-standing items that cannot remain upright on standard conveyor belts. This specialized capability makes them indispensable for labeling delicate pharmaceutical products that require gentle handling and exact positioning.

Working Principle of Automatic Ampoule Vial Labeling Machine

Ampoules are loaded onto infeed hopper of the machine from where it is delivered to the feedworm. Feed worm rotates ampoule and during its operation transfer the ampoules to the Starwheel. The Starhweel is having rollers of same diameter as of ampoule body diameter. Starwheel transfer ampoules to the labeling station where ampoule picks label one by one and further moves towards pressing unit. Pressing Unit equipped with rubber belt for proper placing the labels. During movement of ampoules from pressing belt ampoules get labeled.

Duly labeled ampoules get collected on Outfeed Collection Tray for further operation. In case of printing unit opted labels will be printed with printing device before applying onto ampoules. There are encoders installed which sense gap between two labels and accordingly provide signals to print data onto labels.

  • Product Feeding: Ampoules/vials are loaded via trays, turntables, or in-feed screws into a horizontal/vertical conveyor system for stable transport.

  • Separation & Alignment: Sensors detect products; screws or star wheels space them evenly while rotating for precise positioning.

  • Label Dispensing: Labels from a roll are peeled and released via a servo-driven mechanism at synchronized speed.

  • Application: The container rotates against a wrapping unit or pressing belt/pad to apply the label smoothly.

  • Inspection & Output: Vision systems verify placement/print; defects are rejected. Labeled items collect in trays or move to downstream packaging.

Key Features of Automatic Ampoule Vial Labeling Machine

  • High-Speed Operation: Capable of labeling 200–500+ units per minute, significantly boosting production efficiency.

  • Horizontal or Vertical Orientation: Often uses horizontal roller chain conveyors or trays to prevent breakage, with gentle feeding via screws, star plates, or inclined conveyors.

  • Advanced Controls: PLC & HMI touchscreen for easy operation, one-touch speed synchronization, AC frequency drives for variable speed, and auto label length detection (no manual input needed for label changes).

  • Precision & Quality Assurance: Servo-driven technology for jerk-free labeling, vision systems/cameras for print inspection, barcode verification, label presence check, and auto-rejection of defects.

  • Safety & Compliance: Acrylic safety cabinets with interlocks, stainless steel construction (304/316), and options for 21 CFR Part 11-compliant software, serialization, and track-and-trace.

  • Flexibility: Handles various sizes with minimal change parts, wrap-around/full-circle labeling, optional printers for variable data, and integration with filling/capping lines.

  • Low Maintenance: No-look label sensing for transparent labels, auto-stop for missing/broken labels, and easy cleaning.

FAQ for Automatic Ampoule Vial Labeling Machine

The machine is available in three models to suit different production scales:

  • AASL-120: Up to 120 ampoules per minute
  • AASL-300: Up to 300 ampoules per minute
  • AASL-600: Up to 600 ampoules per minute

These options support medium to high-volume pharmaceutical production needs.

It supports ampoules with:

  • Diameter: 10mm to 18mm
  • Height: 50mm to 105mm

Label specifications include lengths of 20mm to 50mm and widths of 15mm to 60mm. It is also suitable for other similar cylindrical containers.

Ampoules are loaded into an infeed hopper and transferred via a feed worm to a starwheel for precise alignment. They move to the labeling station where they pick up self-adhesive labels, followed by a secondary pressing unit with a rubber belt for secure adhesion. Labeled products are collected on an outfeed tray. Optional printing devices add variable data like batch numbers before application.
