Bucket Elevator

A Bucket Elevator (also known as a grain leg) is a mechanical conveyor system designed to vertically transport flowable bulk materials, such as grains, fertilizers, powders, pellets, or aggregates, from a lower level to a higher one.

Key Components

• Buckets: Containers (often made of plastic, steel, or stainless steel) attached to a belt or chain that scoop and carry the material.

• Belt or Chain: An endless loop driven by pulleys or sprockets at the top (head) and bottom (boot).

• Boot Section: The bottom area where material is loaded into the buckets.

• Head Section: The top where material is discharged.

• Drive System: Typically an electric motor powering the top pulley.

How It Works

Buckets scoop material at the boot (often from a pit or hopper). As the belt/chain moves upward, the buckets lift the load. At the head, material is discharged either by centrifugal force (flung out at high speed) or gravity/continuous flow.

Common Types

• Centrifugal Discharge: Fast-moving, spaced buckets; ideal for free-flowing, durable materials like grain.

• Continuous Discharge: Slower, closely spaced buckets; gentler for fragile or sluggish materials.

• Positive Discharge: Similar but with mechanical tipping for sticky materials.

• Structure is made of S.S. 304/M.S. 32mm square pipe with matt finish/painted.

• Table top is made of S.S.304 16 gauge sheet with matt finish.

• Conveyor Belt is supplied with 3 speed pulley.

• Special Self-aligning bearing ensure smooth and trouble free rotation of the Roller.

• Conveyor belt is used as PVC coated canvas belt/endless rubberized belt.

• The Reduction Gear Box provides jerk less & noiseless performance for long time.
