It features a U-shaped trough and two counter-rotating Z-shaped sigma blades that efficiently knead, fold, stretch, and shear the material for uniform texture and quality.
It is ideal for high-viscosity confectionery doughs, including the rubber-like gum base blended with sweeteners, softeners (such as glycerin), flavors, corn syrup, and other ingredients. It handles sticky, elastoplastic masses that standard mixers cannot manage effectively.
Key features include construction in SS 316, SS 304, or Mild Steel with matt/mirror polish or epoxy paint finishes; tangential Z-blades for uniform mixing; PTFE shaft seals for food-grade compatibility; minimal blade-to-trough gaps to prevent sticking; jacketed heating/cooling with insulation; and options for manual/hydraulic discharge, spray systems, and vacuum systems.
The mixer uses tangential action from counter-rotating Z-shaped sigma blades that operate at different speeds (typically 3:2 ratio). This creates intensive shearing, folding, stretching, dividing, and recombining motions, ensuring thorough homogenization. Discharge occurs via tilting the trough, bottom valves, or extrusion screw.
Models range from ASM-50 (50L working / 80L gross capacity) to ASM-3000 (3000L working / 3800L gross capacity), with motor options from 5 HP to 120 HP (general and heavy-duty). Working capacity is typically 40-65% of gross volume, and power voltage is customizable.
Discharge options include hand-wheel (manual) or hydraulic (automatic) tilting, bottom valves, screw extrusion, or automatic valve systems. Jacketed designs with mineral wool insulation support heating or cooling, with additional blades cooling arrangements available.
It ensures even distribution of the gum base with sweeteners, flavors, and softeners through intense kneading, producing consistent texture, elasticity, and chewiness. The process typically involves loading ingredients, controlled-temperature kneading, and achieving a homogeneous pliable mass ready for extrusion, rolling, or cutting.
