Working Principle of Rotary Bottle Washing Machine

The bottles are loaded on the subsequent indexing part of rotating platform and are cleared in series of operations. Specially designed bottle holders are provided to hold bottles with neck diameter. The bottles are placed in an inverted position in these cup shaped holders. Spraying showers does the external cleaning of the bottles. Solenoid valves are provided to enable the regulation of wash timings, it also spraying water when bottle are stopped means ensure saving of water and sequence of various washing media to suit specific requirement.

  • Rotary Design
    • The machine has a large, circular turntable (turret) with multiple bottle-holding pockets or grippers arranged around the periphery.
    • Bottles are fed automatically via conveyor → infeed starwheel → placed upside-down into the grippers.

 

  • Washing Stages (Typical sequence) The turret rotates continuously, and bottles pass through a series of fixed spraying nozzles at different stations:
    • Pre-washing (external + internal with recycled water or air)
    • Detergent wash (hot or cold detergent solution)
    • Internal rinsing with clean water (multiple stages)
    • Final rinsing with purified water / WFI (Water for Injection) in pharma models
    • Sterile air blowing (to remove residual water droplets)
    • Some models include ultrasonic cleaning or high-pressure jets.

 

  • Bottle Handling
    • Bottles are held inverted (neck down) during washing so water drains completely.
    • Grippers are spring-loaded or pneumatic and adjustable for different bottle diameters.
