Description

Multi Mill is a versatile, high-speed size reduction machine used in pharmaceutical, chemical, food, cosmetic, and related industries for wet and dry granulation, pulverization, milling, shredding, chopping, and particle size reduction of powders, granules, and other materials. It operates on the principle of impact in air, where rotating blades shred material fed into a hopper, passing it through a selected screen for controlled particle size, while maintaining low temperatures to prevent degradation.

Working Principle of Multi Mill

Unit consists of S.S 316 AISI quality material rotor fitted with 8 Nos. SS blades knife/impact edge having swing action and 2 Nos. scrapper blades. Rotor assembly fitted on SS shaft with suitable bearing. Other end of the shaft directly coupled with suitable H.P./3 PHASE/415V/60CS/2800 RPM flange mounting type motor through love jaw coupling. The speed variation will be achieved through A.C. Frequency drive unit with selected 4 speeds of i.e., 2800RPM/2200RPM/1600RPM/800RPM.

 

S.S Charging hopper with slide plate arrangement to control the material feed rate. S.S Screen with hold plate is provided to get desired size of granules. S.S discharge hopper with necessary holding arrangement. Drive unit supported on S.S column with S.S base plate fitted with PU castor wheels to achieve portability.

  • Design and Construction: Compact, tabletop or portable unit with stainless steel contact parts for cGMP compliance, hygiene, and corrosion resistance. Includes a hopper, variable force swing beaters, interchangeable screens, and optional features like variable frequency drives (VFD) for speed control, dust extraction, and inline integration with sifters or granulators.

 

  • Capacity: Lab models handle small batches, typically up to a few kg, suitable for R&D, pharmacy colleges, and pilot-scale testing.

 

  • Power and Controls: Equipped with a 1-2 HP motor, high-speed rotation, digital controls, timers, and safety interlocks. Beaters rotate within the screen to achieve fine particle sizes without excessive heat.

 

  • Operation: Material enters the hopper, is impacted by high-speed blades, and exits through the screen in a spiral motion, collecting in a container below. This process ensures uniform size reduction for both wet and dry materials.

FAQ for Multi Mill

Material is fed into the hopper and controlled by a slide plate. It enters the processing chamber where high-speed rotating beaters (with knife and impact edges) shred and impact the material. The processed material passes through a selected perforated screen and is collected in the discharge container. The machine allows reversible blade rotation and variable speeds for different applications while generating minimal heat.
