Limpet Coil: Half-pipe or semi-circular coils are welded externally on the shell and bottom dish. These coils circulate heating/cooling media (steam, thermic fluid, hot oil, or chilled water) for efficient indirect heat transfer. Limpet coils provide better heat exchange than standard jackets, especially for high-temperature applications (>150°C), and add structural strength.
